Probably the wrong place to ask but, have any of you as you’ve got older become scared of heights?

I started to lose my bottle a little before I stopped climbing full time, although I have always been a little uneasy(scared is a big word) of heights in some respects. I couldn't walk to the edge of a cliff and peer over. Happy enough when I am attached to something though!

Your edge of a cliff isn’t far different, I’ve got some work down your way and one of the jobs is Clacton Pier, to get to the pump station I have to walk over a grated area with the sea way below, I’ll put my big boys pants on but it makes me uneasy. Who’d have thought I did a fair bit of roofing back before scaffolding was the norm.

Courage isn’t having no fear, it’s having fear and conquering it.
