Anyone have any job hindering hand injuries ? ( can see the jokes already forming 🙈)

I’ve just been diagnosed with De Quervain’s tenosynovitis, which is preventing me from doing any climbing up tree jobs safely.

Makes gripping things with the thumb sometimes quite painful.

Sounds like " wankers colic "

Cut / damaged 6 tendons and removed the nerves from 3 fingers on my right hand.  Luckily none of them were totally severed.

Courtesy of a moments lapse in concentration and a circular saw.

5 hours of surgery and a diagnoses of not working again.  I was back at work 10 months later and full time after 12 months.

It is still very painful in the winters due to the nerve damage.  Index finger will be forever numb as they didn’t managed to find the nerves.

'Doctor.....it hurst when I do that'

'Well don't do that then'

'Doctor I've broken my leg in two places'

'Well, don"t go to those places then'

Angle grinders, chainsaws and table saws must be up there with the biggest cause of hand injuries to the working man.

See my avatar for my attempt at cutting my leg of with an angle grinder.

My wife always gets on at me for picking up lots of minor injuries just little nicks, bumps and cuts but I ask her if she would want me sitting in the house all day watching tv, getting grumpy and getting fat, at that she tuts mumbles something that I can’t hear due to hearing damage and leaves me alone😀
