Never had any luck with NFU with modified land rovers once I mentioned it they stopped asking questions and said we don't insure them.

They were happy to insure mine pickup 130, with engineers report or invoices from landrover for mods They didn’t like the 90 with a gm 5 litre diesel, I think it depends on who you get, mine done via earls colne office.

Have worked with a couple of guys that one or another NFU branch wouldn't insure but they tried a different branch with no worries. Not sure what difference that each branch objected to but both of the blokes were certain they had given the exact same answers to the questions asked (not telling one place the vehicle was modified, telling the next it was a bog standard item).

No good telling them it's not been modified as they will not pay out.

Both Landys are with Adrian Flux and come in at around £600 the pair that with 1 other named driver, and limited mileage on both which brings it down a lot.

I got the G Wagens insured with our local UFU.

For a pittance really.

Asked recently about adding our son to the policy for him to keep and drive 1 of them at his Belfast address, no problems, an extra 80 quid for the 9 months remaining on the policy.

Also no problems with "modifications" in respect of one of them being re-engined with an OM 605 diesel in place of the origonal OM 617 diesel, and fully declared. Mind you they are looking about £500.00 to insure the 2 year old Rav4 for 3 of us just now.
