stump size.

FC have stipulated complete removal. As per opening post, we don't want them there either.

Ah this makes more sense.  No individual stem is ten foot plus.  A stem of that size is a venerable tree planted around the Norman conquest, and would be classified as an ancient tree.

Why can the stumps not be left if its gonna be replanted?

Obviously maybe not at 6ft high  but cut low.

Some may   regrow it being an old coppice etc?

Seems a very odd  and  unnecessarily destructive way to managed a  PAWS woodland.

1) FC SPHN conditions. For the second or third time of pointing out.

2) It's not a paws site.

So your posting on a public arb forum … I’ll emphasise that again Arboricultural forum, the care and management of trees… and don’t like the opinions of the other users probs best t fuck off then… how you have got away with destroying trees like that in the woodland under those conditions considering what was said on squardeys post pointing out there historic value sums up every thing wrong with the forestry commission and land owners in general.
I would be checking  out a CAT D9 owners forum and UK explosive experts forums instead.

Would be interest to know what timber went for, if it was to be milled then value left on site.

I would imagine shitloads was left on site given that they couldn’t even find a contractor with a big enough bar to fell the tree properly. So they cut it off 6ft high?

sounds like an absolute cowboy job to me.
