3.2 Ranger ad blue system fault

I had adblue malfunction and service light pop up on my isuzu with the countdown to no engine start. By the time I got the the dealer 20 miles away it cleared and they couldn't find a problem. Then literally a year to the day the same thing happened so I drove it around for a bit and it cleared. I'm wondering whether it was something to do with someone not resetting the service light so it's out of sync to when it actually got serviced, who knows! At least you're not alone with these issues.

I’ve canned the ad blu injector replacement as I’ve no confidence that this is the issue, like yourself it’s a random fault and can often clear itself etc and I’m not prepared to finance a never ending part swap at Ford main dealer prices. Ad blu delete is the route I’m gonna take for better or worse.

Sounds a right pain in the proverbial and so frustrating when it's a recurring issue that Ford can't/won't sort out. Don't suppose you are likely to be picked up by DVSA but fine isn't light if you are and insurance would be invalidated.

Hope you get a resolution, must admit I was going to upgrade from my old ranger (2009) but now will keep it and just reduce mileage I do on it. I've been well pleased with it but the horror stories on the newer ones has quite put me off and alternative choices are limited and expensive.

Smart move. Stick with the Jap ranger.

Cheers Mark, I’ve actually had the adblu deleted and whilst in he tweaked it up a bit not massively but smoothed out what was there and the torque increase is definitely noticeable. Mpg is better and truck is far nicer to drive and tow with. Coming up to a 1000 miles since having it done and so far no issues. Time will tell but it can’t be any worse than an endless merry go round to the Ford main dealer.
