Unauthorised tree planting

Aka guerrilla gardening

Does anyone on here partake in such illegal activities?

Going round planting trees in places you shouldn't. Wasteland, odd bits of no mans land, bits of verges etc

It's manly been willow whips poked in the ground on moonlit nights. Atleast they're quick and easy, and hopefully compete with the undergrowth

I did once have a mixed bag of self seeded saplings, don't know if many of them survived. Do you think using tree tubes would be a bit much :vollkommenauf:

I suppose you could also do it during the day and use a hi vis jacket as camouflage, official innit

That’s long term business planning.

Andy is absolutely right, you do need to get out and do more tree planting. Great stuff, carry on.

No planting but I did do some guerrilla pruning of self seeded oak because I wanted to see a clear butt rather than the knotty scrubby trees that result from most widely spaced planting. Seeing the results now I wish I had gone higher.

Yes, planted a few oaks in uni, but I think the knapsack sprayer man got them later.

I planted 3 Oaks that I had grown in pots . They were about waist high . All doing well until some twat with a tractor and flail rashered them off to the ground . Wanker !

I had a older Dutch client near me who had around an acre around the house, planted it up with all sorts of small stuff, making the beginnings of a little woodland.

Every time we worked there we had to negotiate dragging the branches above and around dozens of little trees that he had planted and cherished thinking of the future and the legacy he was leaving.

He got ill, so he and his wife sold up and moved back to Holland.

Went round there last year to look at some work for the new owners, they’d cleared the lot and put horses on it.

I don’t know the moral of this story.
