Mrs CC was in our local "Home Bargains" or some such similar emporium yesterday and one of the shelf stackers was telling her that all their combustible type products were going out the door as quick as they could get it set out in the shop.

The thing is, people will be buying up all those ridiculously over-priced "easy carry" type products, frequently putting them in an open fire, and the majority of the heat will be going up the chimney without even heating the house.

In such cases it's doubtful if they'll be saving anything.

The log bags in the foyer at our local Home Bargains seem to have about 9 pieces each in them and are priced at £5.65 which makes the logs about 63p each, better value than the ones at Hardwick Hall which worked out at about 70p each.

63p don't seem bad if you don't mind paying for a bit of water 🙂
