In which case, a soak in very hot salt water would probably do the trick.

I find it's the ear defenders on mine rather than the sweat band that starts to hum.

Give it a spray with neat Vodka in a small spray bottle, if you want a perfume to it then add a couple of drops of tea tree oil to the Vodka.

Straight from my Wife who ran a team looking after a fleet of very expensive costume characters, and them heads get hotter than a furnace inside.

The only thing they ever found that could keep the heads clean and fresh enough for multiple wearers.

Handy excuse for some Vodka in the filing cabinet anyway!

Ok, I'm probably not going to get many sensible replies, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

The black webbing inside the helmet (not a climbing one) sort of smells of mildew from all the sweat. I wash everything but no joy.  I'm guessing it's because it stays in an unheated garage and festers. No mushrooms yet, but give it time..

What do you lot do, or do you all smell of roses?

i stick my helmet in wet places as often as possible, smells fine to me.

Check the underside of your boots, could be the residue of a barkers egg under there.

Definitely going to try this!

my helmet seems to smell like raw meat after a sweaty shift, probably because I’ve not got much hair left.
