GROUNDS PERSON (ARBORIST) • REF: GG498

 

£19,612 to £21,814 (plus snow clearance allowance)

 

The University of East Anglia Estates Division is responsible for maintaining the University Campus as an exceptional place to live, study and visit.

 

We are seeking a Grounds Person (Arborist) to provide specialist tree care knowledge and activities within the Grounds Team, assisting with tree inspections, record management and operational tree works on site.  You will deliver outstanding arboricultural knowledge and skills to support excellent service and to ensure our grounds maintenance services and landscape management are consistently delivered to a high standard.

 

In relation to the management of tree works you will also undertake general grounds maintenance services such as external cleaning, waste and litter management and collection, weed control, pest control and snow and ice clearance, to ensure that the University Campus is well presented, welcoming and ready for use by students, staff and visitors and that University policies and procedures are adhered to.  In addition, you will be required to participate in gritting and snow clearance callout throughout the winter. 

 

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate competence in all the essential criteria set out in the Person Specification.

Very few I'd have thought, good all rounders cost good money, but no doubt it's classed as a band C job... that's what the book says it pays.

When I was 22 I applied for several jobs like this, got to one interview and they decided I was over qualified. That's why I became self employed and never had a problem with litter picking, elsan emptying or drain cleaning.

Us minions can cope with the mundane jobs, they'll pay for it mind. £20k don't cut it around here.
