In France Road Closed means ‘road might be closed, do you feel lucky?’

It's like deviation signs around small villages etc. Just the one, then sod all, it's like the clowns who put them up expect everyone to know the way around as though you live in the village.

It means the same here with the added caveat of "probably not, you may as well give it a go as there is no diversion route signed".

The lighting boards above motorways have a similar interpretation when displaying "Caution, Workers in road". Translates as "almost certainly isn't but we thought if you slowed right down it would be a fun way to pee you off".

All sorts of arguments to this but the boy who cried wolf is how I see it.

Sorry to contradict, Moose. I don't know what part of France you are referring to, certainty not where I live and work.

Maybe it's just the motorways then? Or maybe i'm just lucky.

Or more likely, they do it badly just for you, maybe to remind you of home.

Miles of warnings for "debris" and yet.. nothing. All the time for me on the M1 and M25.

No, motorways are as bad. Not for nothing are you referred to as "Lucky Moose McAlpine" throughout the Continental road systems.

Last time i drove through i was a c**t in an Audi though. Not sure if that's better or worse.

No Stubby, you keeping driving your Honda Jazz the wrong way down the motorway on your bi-weekly shopping trip.

They're not practicing and one day you'll get in trouble for it!
