I'll echo Mick and go with thuja, the bark looks right for it.

When comparing lawsons and leylandii:  lawsons have 2D(flat) sprays and Leylandii has 3D sprays.

Lawsons for me (cos Stubby says so 😄)

 

The leaflets are too thin for Thuja I think and the overall look isn't feathery enough.  Makes sense to me 🤔

Yeah I thought lawsons, crushing a frond is the clincher.

Thanks for taking the time to comment.  Went out yesterday and crushed some of the foliage and it has more of a parsely than pineapple smell, so definately sounds like lawsons.
