Lit the stove here (Warwickshire) once in the last week and we probably would have done again last night, but were out and about until gone 9, by which time it didn’t feel worth it.

I find we’re at that stage where it’s a tiny bit on the cool side when the CH goes off, but if we light the stove it makes the lounge too hot. We’ve got a stove fan but it doesn’t help getting the warm air out of the lounge and circulating in the rest of the house.

Incidentally getting the oil tank filled up was a more unpleasant £££ experience than this time last year :-(. Maybe I should be burning more logs after all!

Indeed. Last year, we paid 18p/litre. Had the tank filled last week and it was up to 42p. We started using the central heating in the evenings,  but the cold really seem to set in yesterday so the stove was lit once again.

We have 3.1 kwh of  solar pv panels and keep records of the amount generated . This May so far  is down by 90Kwh over the same period last year so its certainly been more cloudy.

I’ve just topped up my stores with green wood making the half dry wood from next winters supply inaccessible to my wife who insisted on burning it and therefore needing a hell of a lot of kindling to get it going.
“But the central heating is expensive “ she says.

This chart is the temperature outside my front door for the last 4 years, 2019 was cool as well, but I can't remember having the fire on this late in the year before

Yep, still burning! Up until recently the air was so chilly so it's definitely been needed. Luckily the weather is reflecting the time of year now, so I'm just burning firewood in the firepit!

When you're living in the UK, you can never predict the weather though 😂
