As a matter of principal. - I won’t get the mower out in Feb (even though a light nip off the top would be quite in order)

 

Last weeks job, homeowner had already had the lawns done and the grass pixies are already posting their pics to FB locally. 
 

I planted a load of Crocus in one area of lawn at home last year so that I couldn’t mow it til they’d faded 😂 (told the wife it was part of her Birthday surprise 😛

The guy had his ride on mower out for first cut at the place I was working on Thursday, have heard several mowers today too (South East Scotland)

I can’t really say I cut mine today, more hoovered it. Still looks better for it.
I was being lazy and trying to mop up all the snowberry twigs and one must have got in to where it shouldn’t have been and I snapped the transmission belt

Grass is beginning to grow but with sunshine today  and a ground frost tonight forecast I don’t think it’s a good idea to mow🤔 plus the grass cutting season is already long enough as it is😳

If it is dry enough and long enough then cut. No such thing as first cut or last cut in my book. An early cut in Feb saves so much hard work in April when there are so many other jobs to do!
