If you’re dragging brash/doing groundwork you get paid at the end of the day or at the end of the week if you’re working all week.

It’s part of the deal for getting poor money.

Any subbies get paid at end of week every week, end of story. Every day just wouldn’t work, to much to do fixing, sharpening, tipping, getting ready for the next day etc.

Especially if they’re heroin addicts!

I'm solely a freelance climber. The terms on my invoice state 7 days. Some people can't pay your soon enough, some wait a couple of weeks, and one or two companies will wait 30 days, which can be annoying.

If you manage your cash flow well as a subby it shouldn't be a problem. Don't live hand to mouth. I pay myself from my business account at the end of each month, keeping a bit back for tax and contingency.

Means late payers aren't such an issue.

Just me, simple climbing kit and a couple of saws. I don't really get involved in anything that would need much in the way of rigging these days.

Edit. I should have mentioned, the 384 includes VAT.

Fair play that's unfathomable to me, double what I charge. I'm 160-180pd 8years ex, tickets Inc rigging, L3extended diploma, kit and saws... I don't see how a firm could afford 384 for a climber for a day?! Id be interested to know what the firm's you're working for are charging. Around 800 for a 3 man crew is standard where I am....
