Lifting Tongs / Hookaroon - Worth Getting?

Thought I'd follow up what I did as a result of this post .... bought some of the Husky tongs as they'd pick up larger logs than most of the others and finally got to give them a proper try over the weekend and what a great piece of kit.

I made a recent post about how useful the Woodchuck pickaroon from the US is, only problem with tongs is constant bending over - if you want to save your spine that tool is worth buying. Digs in well and doesn't appear to blunt, mine certainly didn't break, despite being made of alloy. Must buy another, mine went missing

I have this one . Thought the spike might be too short but no , works a treat .

I have 1 pair of stihl tongs, always use them, think they are great for general log lifting and for dragging logs into the processor if needed.  These have lasted years and not tried others.  Carnt fault them just myself, still dont have the knack of releasing them easily as would like.
