Heated saw handles pros and cons?

Alright just wondering wot folk think about heated handles on saws?

Never had 1 before, only used 1 once for a short time could hardly hold on to the thing it was that hot.

He wears by it thou, althou he uses gloves a lot.

Been working in snow a lot the last month and I bet temp rarely much above zero yet I don't wear gloves very often usually only if cross cutting as sick off cutting yelf with logging tape.

Is there any cons? Other than the extra 80 odd quid.

Do u have to turn them on every so often to keep them working?

Or if they break can it affect saw running?

On a forestry saw b a 70cc sir for telling/cross cutting rough hairy outsiders so will be in my hands for a good few hours a day screaming is head off.

Got a wee telling off the other day off forester for no gloves on and he said heated handles can reduce white finger.

Cheers

No drawback to having them though, for the Arctic blast that the papers promise and never arrives !

Our yard been an ice rink since before Christmas, never thawed out completely, just refreezes. Forecast for tonight is -5 so can add 3 or 3 degrees to that.

The only negative things are, you need to be carful with the under side of the top handle, this is where the heater element runs Nick it and no more heated handles, with heated handles unfortunately you usually get a heated carb, something you do not want, so I normally disconnect it, as they are usually classed as a cold country saw you may get a very open air filter, but on the whole a nice option to have.

I was thinking more Canada / Scandinavia cold. The husqvarna heated handles pack a punch.
Probably useful in Scotland , other than that a pair of gloves will do in the UK.
I find in this country the cold rainy days feel colder than a nice crisp frosty -5 morning.
Good for drying out gloves I suppose [emoji38]
