Prepare to be undercut by every man and his dog 🤦‍♂️ Customers don’t give a damn about Woodsure. I know a bloke locally processing a fair few tons a year- own tractor, trailer and processor and does around ten loads a day during the season. He said to me, ‘**************** em, I’m not registering’. I do maybe twenty loads a year to locals in the village- I won’t be either.

It doesn't seem to happen round here, I sell out every year and have to buy in wholesale just to keep selling.

I was talking to one of my mates who sells a long pickup load ( single cab ) for £95 .  His wood will be the same as it always has . No one complains and it burns fine . If they suddenly want to see some kind of ticket they can go elsewhere . I very much doubt any one will though .

The exact words of a guy near me doing between 200 and 300 tons a year - **** 'em!

Spot on on every point.  The wood was good, it is good and it will continue to be good; paying a quango a ludicrous amount to do the same as ever is pointless and ain't happening here.   As clear as the nose on one's face it's a money-making exercise and no more

I'm pretty convinced they have no idea how many firewood producers there actually are, and if everyone tried to register in the same year they could not cope. I just don't see the system being workable in the real world of people like me who sell a few loads here and there.

Surely someone is looking at the number of producers registered and wondering how all the people buying wood stoves are managing to fuel them?

And rubbing their hands with glee when they realise there are more folk to screw more money out of for no reason.

Some of those registered will be out to dob you in to the authorities😳. It was a few of the big producers who lobbied government in the first place in an attempt to monopolise the industry🤔. You didn’t think the government come up with this idea all on their own did you🤔.

What you say may or may not be true but I still don't see how it could be effectively  policed . If Mrs Miggins  gets her wood from you , like she always has , and it still burns like it always has she is not going to complain .
