Having used an 880, unless you have big timber you are better off with the 661. 881 is only really in its element ringing up big timber or milling. I would say for anything else a 661 would be preferable

Not many trees in UK you cant do with 661. Ringing up is a different matter

It’s bigger, with lots more torque.
A 661 will pull 36”-42” full comp 3/8 full chisel
but that’s about it limit.
An 881 will pull 84”+ full comp .404 or more if using skip or hyper skip.

There’s a big difference in the 881 to the 880.
I’d pick up a 661 over an 880 everyday for felling or cross cutting.
But over 30” I go straight for the 881 now.

Unless u actually need a 881 to use for big milling, I'd probably stick with 661 

The 881 is completely different to the 880, however it's still a big arse saw to start and use, but the power and torque isn't like any other saw

I had a 881, its a great saw

I can't wait to buy one (881). I'm waiting on stock on a bar for a panther mill as otherwise it's just going to sit in the house burning the warranty 😂

i think im gonna get the 661. the attraction of the 881 was just it being the biggest, but looks like it would feel oversized and id never use it.

anything big enough to want the size of the 881 is gonna be so big i dont wanna know anyway.

If you can go to a dealership who has both in stock.
Have a feel of each running.
Totally different to the 880.
I’d rather an 881 than a 661 for big wood.
