Thats how I read it as well, hence the letter from your employer. It seems more geared to folk coming to the UK to work and not folk working in other countries and coming back to live in the UK after doing the job in another location.

I managed to avoid quarantine coming back into Aberdeen by showing Boarder Force my work schedule that showed me heading back to Norway within 14 days.

**Update** He's back, his Mrs got a text to say she must isolate for 14 days, he's heard nothing. When he was on the plane he was talking to a lorry driver who was on holiday, he told my mate he would have to isolate when he gets home, but if he'd drove/ boat to Turkey  in his truck he wouldn't have to isolate. That's cleared things up then.

Very odd. Good for him not having to isolate though. Maybe they thought taking a holiday in Turkey was punishment enough? :D

My mate had to have test before he could fly out to Qatar this week on business. He was told that the test results would take a couple of days due to staff shortages and backlog, he was then given the okay to fly out and will know the results when he returns in a couple of weeks.

Spoke to someone the other day who booked a test. He couldnt turn  up in the end, but they sent him a text to say he had tested positive.

Its a forfeit for not turning up . Standard practice  I believe ☺️

Seriously?

Yes, in fact I have since come across someone else its happened to. I was also poo pooed when I mentioned way back at the start of this thread that deaths in care homes was not factually correct, but it's now been confirmed  much further afield to be true.

I’m on side mate, have been from the outset, the masses have been fed ‘stats’ that simply don’t stand up to scrutiny.

Whilst I totally understand, and empathise, with those that want to adopt (what I consider to be) excessively oppressive, restrictive precautions, my personal view is that the medicine, in this (C19) case, is worst that the disease.
