It’s an illustration of just how shite our system of government actually is. Tories are in charge (they’ll get the shit for what’s wrong) but can’t see any other outfit having done it any better (or much worse for that matter.)

Some truly staggering oafishness being reported today, exampled:

You can get married but must wash hands after exchanging rings - who dreams this rubbish up? Wash hands then consummate the marriage. What’s the point and who, exactly is going to ‘police’ it?

The ‘government’ will issue fines for children not going back to school in Sept. Did the education secretary not understand the current law of school attendance and the actual process for parental fines for persistent absence?

I could go on, like you say Leicester, only enforceable in part....

All this has done is to reinforce the potential benefits of anarchy - laws, guidance, advice from central government buffoons is becoming increasingly laughable and ridiculous.

You'd think they would learn, keep your mouth shut and let people think you are stupid.. "

Boris and Hancock are like the blind leading the blind.

When this first kickied off 'we' policed it by common consent, now 'they' think they are going to tell the people of certain areas what they can do?, if it pulls off I'd be very surprised.

To help control numbers West Wittering beach can only be booked on line .  Once it reaches the regarded safe numbers its closed to any more .  Bloke stops in his car to ask my mate " are there any camp sites around here ( he has all the gear on the roof and the whole family in the car ) . My mate says yes but they are not open yet . . " what non of them "  No , non . So I can't go camping then "  No .  " what about the beach ? " Yes its down the road a bit , did you book it ?   " What do you mean book it ? "  You have to book in advance at the moment . " No I haven't "  Did you not see the 14 electronic signs on all the major roads leading down to Wittering  ? .  " No " ...........

It isn't helpful to blame anyone except the public in my opinion. We know that this virus can easily kill but we blame the government and Boris for spreading it.

We blame the government for the lack of resources to provide NHS care but the public spread the disease by ignoring the advice of stay at home, don't mix with people outside of your house and wash your hands properly and regularly.

The virus hasn't gone away, just because you haven't caught it yet, doesn't mean that it is safe to ignore what you gave been told!

Thailand say they have virtually eliminated  it atm

How can they manage so well with large cities  the poverty and overcrowding in slums etc yet the UK worst per pop in whole world.

Hard to understand.

British public seems just to have less common sense?

Thailand __say__ they have virtually eliminated it. Thailand is a monarchy where disrespecting the king gets you thrown in jail. Think about it...

Common sense....? When people figured out what the probability of death was for healthy people they did use their common sense, and circumvented the draconian rules as much as possible.

Same as the various protesters,  beach goers, liverpool fans etc. Forget that there is a serious killer pandemic and do what they want to do!

But it's over now Peter! In many folks mind it's history and things are back to normal.

It's ironic that we're talking about closing beaches when Florida are now closing theirs. I went to a supermarket friday, my first outing in three months. All the signs are still there; ,one out/one in,' 'two metre distancing and follow the arrows' I was the only bugger wearing a mask (staff not wearing them at all'. Walk which ever way you want.

I just don't get the lack of concern about it now, it's as if none of it ever happened, no-one got ill and no-one died from it. So let's get back to normal.

You are so right Gary, it being over is just the initial hump of infectious ness which the NHS couldn't manage.  We now have the temporary super hospitals than can cope better with the number of idiots who think they are above heading advice, are aware that their god will protect them and Boris has to pay......sad. so truly sad.
