I have a huge Ash tree in the garden (Cardiff). It’s been assessed as suffering from early dieback and Inonotus Hispidus, and has to be felled.  Looking for a competent tree surgeon. Anticipating some outrageous quotes, any guidance would be appreciated.

Depending on access and if you want to keep the wood or not and I would charge something around £1’200/£1’400

Not bad price if that includes travelling from droitwich.

Ya you got me there...I should have worded it differently....what I should have said is that’s what he should be looking at to be paying for a local tree surgeon.

Felling or dismantaling ?? there will be a big price difference ? need more info, more photos, to get a better idea of what you exactly need, can it be felled out in to a clear area, any power/phone lines in the way, is timber to be left on site or removed, ?

Assuming it will need to be dismantled I think anything under £1800 +/- VAT would be cheap. Wouldn't be surprised if you getting  quotes of £2 - 2.5K. As already said more pics/info needed re access.

It doesn’t look like it can felled to me.

Price depends on access, what’s that like?
