Lockdown - has it totally failed?

What about if we had stuck to the first guide lines issued before lockdown we would not of had it in the first place.
Last weekend we had hundreds of people turning up to local beauty spots that have narrow paths down ravines to them , you can’t distance on those paths and neither are any of the toilets open or pubs etc so what shops where open where rammed with visitors , that’s just selfish.

that is some of it, but I feel that the governments unwillingness to implement a military grade complete lockdown of all air and sea ports saw so many imported cases from February right up to today. One of my customers is Egyptian, he phoned about some work in April, saying he'd just flown into Gatwick, no temperature checks. The government seem to have been trusting foreign arrivals to act responsibly and isolate. Crazy.

Congrats on post number 13000. What you say about selfishness is true. There are vulnerables indoors and ijuts milling out and about or cramped and enclosed in extreme close proxy. When the ijuts visit the vulnerables, then you get selfish results...

But expecting town dwellers, who may be living in flats or terrace houses with no gardens, to use overcrowded urban green spaces isn't?

 The county side is the birth right of us all. No just the preserve of those wealthy enough to live there.

 The idea that you are going to catch covid passing someone on a narrow path, is just more hysteria. If that were true cases would have continued to grow, as spread in supermarkets would be out of control.

But it wasn't a lot of fuss about nothing. So what if people arent allowed to live as they wish for a few months.
