You will be a old, experienced climber by the time the kit arrives from Northern Arb Supplies.

I'm replacing a few bits and pieces that were stolen from my soft top vitara when I visited hospital on my way from work. The silky bigboy arrived today, within a week of ordering from them .

..... I found that the boss shouts at you in  that situation ! ?  K

Hey,
I’d start double rope until you are confident at climbing and then move to SRT, it’s quite/very different to two lines of rope.
Buy individual not just a “kit”, I personally used Petzl Sequoia but didn’t really hang around in the tree, Tachyon rope is good and DMM karabiners and hitch climber. [emoji111]️

I’ve thought about this a bit before but if I was to train a new climber from scratch I would start them on SRT, you can limb walk and move around the canopy and not just ascend faster if your proficient at it , as well as being twice as ergonomic on your joints and all round body wear,I think from my experience of spending most of my climbing career on double ropes and now still living with the injuries from using that technique it is not the way forward.
Double rope is outdated and pointless unless all trees you work on will be around 30ft and under... not wanting to pick a fight with any one with a different opinion but that’s mine.. for what it’s worth [emoji51].

Sequioa is possibly the least comfortable harness i have worn

Have you tried the sequoia 2?

Bought one a few months ago and it's a completely different harness. So much more comfortable than the original. And only £250.

I just could bring myself to spend the 500 ish on another tree motion.

I’m not sure about the new treemotion either , the new buckles are a joke they just won’t stay put and the harness starts falling off you when your working , must write a letter to treeimagineers asking wtf they changed some thing that worked so well when I get a chance.

I was very annoyed that they retrofitted the new buckles to the original style harness. I recently bought one of the last older style tm harnesses because I didn't like the sound of the new buckles and the bastards have fitted them anyway.

I've had to use zip ties on the tail of the straps to keep them from loosening

This is the spur, I'm going to buy the Schultz effect and look at SRT seriously while I have a bit more time.
