Tracked chipper on a tipping trailer?

Just got a tracked chipper, greenmech st 150/35. Its 1300kg.

I have no trailer yet. Thinking of a tipper that can double up and be useful for other stuff. But maybe it wont work well/be too high/ heavy

Any thoughts from people that have done this?

You'll be lucky to get a 3.5 tonne tipper under 2 tonne unladen so that will only allow a freeboard of 200kg for driver, kit and consumables.

Maybe better with just a dropside body, lower too.

I can't see why it wouldn't work.  My Brian James tipper has a payload of 2T and the option of underslung ramps that may bear 1.3T.

Why build in ramp storage if the trailer's unsuitable for loading machines?

Of course BJ also make tippers of larger capacity.

I think he meant a tipping trailer, not putting a tracked chipper onto the back of say a transit ripper

Ah my mistake, it shows my prejudice though as I dislike towing. My bateson tipper would easily handle that and was quite low but you can't get tyres for it now.

We regularly carry Greenmech 1928 Safetraks on 12 foot ifor tippersfor what it’s worth. No issues at all.

Same here, chipper is on the tipper trailer more than the plant trailer.
