Pallet loads of Hessian bagged kindling

This is surely the place to ask, as I am looking for Pallet loads of Hessian bagged kindling. Yes the bags cost more, but they are not plastic and more and more people are starting to accept that you have to pay a little more if we are ever going to get away from using plastic.

I have seen a constant stream of adverts on here from people offering their pallet loads of plastic netted kindling.

We have all heard the excuses, some of which are valid, some are not.

Perhaps there is one supplier, somebody somewhere who is prepared to be the pioneer ? and yes I know I'm not going to like the price ?

Bare in mind there are other environmental elements at play. A paper bag requires far more carbon to make than a plastic one. Odd but true. Whats the carbon footprint of the a hessian sack by comparison? One would hope when we disposing of plastic in the UK it's not ending up in the oceans but more likely incineration or landfill. Not Ideal but not the horror show we see with oceans deep in plastic

I have got quite few customers now returning their nets for reuse

Good question, I hope someone comes up with the goods.

I have been considering buying in firewood but I could never entertain netted logs for the same reason.  The thought of the archaeologists of the future digging down through the layers and there is no question they will call this era the Plastic Age.  Even if the vast majority gets properly disposed of some just ends up in the environment.  And in our lungs.

I was gong to suggest string (a natural fibre one) but I guess there are a few problems with that.

Customers understand the units of wood measurement "bag of kindling" being one of them. Do we want to add "tied bundle" into the mix? In a bag they will be convinced thay are getting the same quantity each tme... but from an envirnmental perspective its a good option. If the kindling i a uniform length they will take some time to tie together (maybe make a U shaped frame with slots to put the string through, load it up, put string round an tie should be fairly quick, buy the kindline un bagged)

I also guess it would be less labour intensive to just lift a bag off a pallet and deliver it but my first thought was 2 bands of string tied around it.

(just to note, i have always returned my coal bags - partly because he can see them and knows where i have hidden the cheque for the next lioad

Having had nothing to do with Kindling machines, are there likely to be any issues with filling hessian bags, as opposed to plastic net bags?

From what I can see, buying plastic net bags in bulk they are about 15p each, whereas hessian are most likely to be around the 75p mark, however the people I know who supply their customers with hessian get the customers to return them when they next deliver.
