Been happy with the Cooper AT3s after being recommended them on here. Did see faint cracking appearing in the sidewalls after only a couple of years though, apparently I should have been polishing them with silicon ?

Put Toyo Open Country's on our D-Max. Ruined it really with the noise. Put BFG AT on the Defender and its good in the fields and good on the road. As folk have said. 100k isn't uncommon.

Cooper At3 have good road manners. It was important for me as I didn't want something that was great of road but shite on tarmac. I'll probably go for the knobbly coopers next. I reckon BFG are pretty much trading on their name nowadays

Same as any 50/50 tyre really. That’s why I have a set of mud pluggers on different rims. Five minutes with a forklift and impact wrench to swap them.

I have BFGs mud terrains on my defender. Seem to last a long time, I find them perfectly acceptable for road use too and have never had any issues towing my 2.8t digger around on them.

my theory is that if that little extra grip over ATs is what gets you out of a muddy field on a rainy Friday evening then I’d sooner that then a bit more road noise or whatever...

I used to run general grabber at3 on my ranger before I sold it. Brilliant tyre on road and good off road. The side wall are strong brilliant for carrying weight.

I’m putting bfg all terrain on my new truck as it seems to be a bit more aggressive for off road.

Don’t think you’ll go wrong with either of those

Grabber ATs having been on BF ATs. Cant tell the difference in use but a big difference in price. The BFs are not what they were as the treads are now shallower to comply with noise legislation (according to local tyre firm)

not sure i agree with the BFG trading on their name!!

BFG's are made by Michelin who make pretty much the best tyres out there.

i used to have general grabbers on my ranger but find the BFG's better on wet tarmac

BFG's and gernerals both have wet grip rating of a B but personally have found the BFG's more predictable!
