3phase converter or generator wanted

Having both, I prefer to use the converter. Less noise, greater efficiency. They come up for sale occasionally but if you know a good electrician they may be able make up one to suit your needs. I was lucky in that there was one with the planer thicknesser, mortiser and ripsaw when I bought them. It's a rotary type, made by Clarke. Digital ones are more efficient again, but pricey.

Hi unfortunately 5.5 is just not quite big enough,but the more people I ask the better chance of getting something sorted,so fingers crossed, I have a mate who runs a demolition firm I am going to ask him to keep an eye out for something for me

Don’t forget dust extraction.  A 5 hp extractor may be needed so factor this in also.  A large thicknesser is hopeless without good extraction.

Tell me about it. The planer isn't so bad, the woodmizer is shocking. Dust everywhere. Number one on the list of things I need. I would advise anyone thinking of getting into milling, or any form of woodwork to start with a decent extractor and go from there. My shed is constantly a mess without one.

Gobby, we are taking a three phase inverter out of a pumping station next week due to a new supply going in. I'm not promising you anything because it's not my job, if it comes available I'll let you know.

before you even get the  invertor/converter, how big is your single phase supply, something that big is going to need at least a 40A supply, remember with inverters youll need a transformer to up the supply to 415 before you feed the inverter, it gets complicated, especially with older non dual voltage motors
