I think the same drill is currently discounted to £80 from Screfix -

Order online at Screwfix.com. Compact and lightweight combi ideal for hard-to-reach areas. Equipped with a brushless...

More reviews there too.

I was looking at the Erbauer range last night as they also have a long reach hedge trimmer and other garden tools. It would actually work out the same price to buy that drill now than a battery and charger to add to a bare tool.

When I was in b&q looking at these, the woman told me I should wait a couple of days as theres an offer imminent

aldi's new range is called ferex, and carry the same 3 year warranty as before, they also have spare batteries in store, for occasional use there fine, and with the warranty, no loss.........for pro use,  milwaukee or dewalt,  whichever is your nearest main dealer(forget  screwfix or toolstation, you can get better deals from a main dealer, plus the backup)

I’m not convinced by Milwaukee and Dewalt any more. They definitely do good tools (Milwaukee Fuel range for example) but they also sell budget stuff which isn’t any better than the own brand stuff mentioned earlier imo. Pick up a Dewalt or Milwaukee drill in screwfix and have a feel of the chuck etc - the stuff they always have on offer on display tends to feel like cheap crap but they sell well on the back of their name.

I’m moving across to Makita now from Hitachi (which is also good imo) as I bought a couple of Makita electric chainsaws for a job and now have loads of their batteries. Everything I’ve got so far I’m really happy with - the quality seems to be there but it is still early days.

Been a site chippy most of my working life, used most top end stuff, and the only ones I've stuck to for cordless is metabo and milwaukee.

Now work for NHS doing basic maintenance, I was looking at budget makes to start using, I settled on the ryobi range, got drill/driver, Impact driver, jigsaw and planer, I can't fault them at all for the price. Ok they don't have the indistructable of metabo, but then they are less than half price, and still do what I ask of them.

I did buy a small electric Erbaurer chopsaw a couple of months ago and been pretty impressive by it, but still wouldn't buy the cordless range.

I am intrigued by the einhell range, I'm in the market for a set of 12v drill and impact driver set, so might give them a try.

Treat yourself and get makita, last a life time, batteries are amazing, most of their other tools are top notch , I wouldn’t bother getting cheap orbitals if you think chainsaws are tough on the hands.

ive been more than happy with my 18v lxt drill,  long battery life and 20 min charge time, its not had pro use but done a fair bit with it over the years
