Not necessarily on milling itself and this question is out there to anyone whom might know. Rather than running the Granberg sharpener off a battery does anyone know of a 240v -12v transformer that would fit the bill.

Yes, we use them to power a high level warning beacon on sewage pumping stations. The ones we use are made by a company called Coleman but there are plenty of others about.

How about the switched mode power supply from a desktop computer?

You just gotta look at the currents/pixeies it needs..ie 12 xA then look on the bay and get your needs.. or better still put in your specs in and go-google-it...Pushkin the surchin buttons...

 

just like i did for you .???  The answers in the pic.. or if you like I will say.. 12v3a but better get a 5a and you get extra pixies when you push harder when your grindin your spinny thing ??

Lol yeah I looked at that and some old posts on here that mentioned 10 amps as a requirement, hence asking if anyone had actually bought something that does the job.

Get a model train transformer. 240-12v with potentiometer.

They'll be around 3A, what is the granberg motor drawing?

 

A power supply from a gaming PC will be up to 20A at 12V

 

Many car battery chargers will only start if they see a battery so you would need a small gel  six cell in the circuit.

Hi, I simply run mine off a cheapo battery charger, does the job ....or off my car.

Hi there. I do firewood as my main business but thinking of buying a chainsaw mill to plank up anything nice now and again. Have no idea what to buy. I own a 562xp to use one on or 661 stihl. 
open to help and suggestions please. Rob
