I cleaned the toilets at Otterburn camp for 6 weeks, over a thousand of Her Majesty’s finest troops would shit in there on any given day during a big summer exercise.

Some of them may be on here!

Character building stuff.

My worst job, however, was trying to run my small arb firm with a totally fucked knee that I didn’t realise was serious.

Pissed off mate I worked with thought I was being a mincer didn’t help.

Got through that and he’s still one of my best mates, although we rarely work together now, but it’s great craic when we do.

Any job is better than no job though.

The current benefits system may make a mockery of the above statement, but for anyone worth anything it’s still true.

Worked in a factory making factories (in kit form) one week I sat at a machine pressing metal components, the technique was pic a component out of a box place in the machine, press two buttons, remove component and throw it into a box on the other side of the machine. 12 hour shifts to make the crap wages viable...
That job really made rainy super wide conny hedge re-re-re-reductions look like exciting adventures. Even in the rain.

Sounds similar to a job that I had producing microfiche.
Pile of documents to the left, take one and place on the flatbed under the camera, press a button, put on the pile to the right.
Pre minimum wage so was on less than £2 an hour!

Pulling the bile gland off Chicken livers, that was one School Holiday job.

Picking the yellow peas out from the Green ones, whilst standing at a conveyor belt was another holiday job.
