One thing I have discovered which is a bit disturbing.

I reported it to my insurance company on the day, but haven’t made a claim yet, as I’m still hoping for a result.

I pay extra for a ‘reinstatement’ policy on tools, i.e. new for old.

I paid £7.5k for that chipper in 2009, ex-demo from Orange Plant.

Turns our that the maximum pay-out would be £7.5k.

I pointed out that prices tend to increase over a decade, but that’s their stance.

Not really new for old then, is it?

No news on my chipper, but Christ it's bad down here at the minute.

Hilux nicked in Great Chart last night, Kawasaki Mule from Bethersden the night before, and a Weidemann loader from a farm in High Halden the same night.

My friend Paul from Arbour Tree Care , about 2 miles from me, had his lock up done on Sunday night. About 20 saws/hedgecutters/kombis and blowers. They didn't get the chipper, but also nicked all the climbing gear.

 

The fuckers are just driving round doing what they like at the minute.

I'm not far from you Mark, I've not read every post but it sounds lousy luck that there's no progress with CCTV footage too - will keep an eye out but we all know a lot of these thefts are on a boat within 12 hours (and yes the feckers are just doing whatever they want at the mo)

No joy on the chipper, so I’ll have to claim tomorrow.

Burnt all the top at the theft site today and winched the root plates back in.

Got a £5 tip, so a good start to my £500 excess.

Yea . I wondered that . Were do chippers get used other than here that would be economical to export even though they are stolen ?
