You see a lot of people buying these big machines then constantly touting for work for them... like they had to have it but cant afford it or havent the work suited to it

I think you’re right.

I look at stuff like this but cannot really see where it would improve productivity.

That'll be quite old, a mk1, the mk2s have kubota engines and quite a few better features. We had five and I wouldn't say reliability was particularly poor.

No idea of the year, it's a clean piece of kit but unfortunately he has had a lot of problems,as I said, it's a great machine when it's going. But not something I would trust myself. They cant all be bad, theres simply too many people still buying them to be the case but i felt it worth saying re the isuzu engine in case there were others fitted too.(from what ive been told most of the issues are related to overheating and the auto switch off function failing to stop the engine before it cooks itself. Or telling the engine it's too hot when it's not) Not a brand I am that familiar with as I've usually kept to pto machines or hired tws or a bandit

Anyone have a pezzolato tracked chipper? No idea of build quality (Italian, soo.. maybe not the best..)but they still make them I think?

Tp tracked chipper could be an option too..

Mick, do you mind me asking why you are changing from Forst. Hoping to change our tow behind Vermeer 935 this year. Ideally Am looking at a 12 inch capacity machine but am also considering a ST8 which may suit budget better.
Tks
Tony

Sorry for derail. There’s a tr8 and a tr6 on donedeal at the moment (Along with an Isuzu Arb truck)

both unused .

totally genuine, we bought the other truck

I think in your situation Josh I would go for a tw or Jensen as dealers are close, I have had Forst and they chip like demons but were un reliable but would have another due to redwoods back up, I have had GM with no real problems, there just not very good infeed, the new arb 200 is v good though . Never been a tw fan but would happily have the new stuff, had and still got an old Jensen 8" tracked, very good but out main 2 machines are Bandit, a 990 12" and a 75 7" there totally different to uk machines in that there slow on the in feed but with a massive letter box opening there little or no snedding and there typical American, heavy and over engineered, a big machine has changed how we work and makes the job so much easier but as for tracked if you need nimble and compact Bandit is no good!
