Today's milling

Redish when fresh cut, pale when dry next day[emoji6]

Bit of milling from the last few days. Bit of 1 metre by 6’ spalted beech and old Sorbus with some nice colours.

Milled some small diameter thuja stems in half  which will get used for building planting boxes and a bit of Japanese walnut I have had sat around - only got a small log mill set up - so mill small logs but still at the learning / hobby stage and even at about 25cm m diameter got some nice colour

Couple of questions
People have mixed feelings about using a Chinese copy as a milling saw, but does anyone else use a makita 9010 saw for milling. I use one occasionally and find it suitable for stuff up to about 26inches which is the biggest I've done.
Also, due to people saying they try to buy British wherever possible, are there any true British manufacturers of chainsaws in existence ?

There is a British made small chain saw called a Cobra . Too small for milling though.

I was not recommending them at all .  I would not have a use for one . You asked and I found one .  Where is Chain ?
