Yah, I've just gone for a 25 on my 66 having removed it from my 44 which didnt really like a 25 that much. It's very noticeably faster in the cut.

Rough I dont think people are obsessed with putting small bars on. For me it's about cut speed vs weight. I'll always grab a saw with the smallest bar I can get away with. Will cut faster and less sharpening.

Cant stand seeing folk brashing up with giant saws.

Identical experience and thoughts here Bill.

My 440 handled the 25 ok, just cut at it’s own pace.

I think we should all just do what we’re happiest with.

People are built differently, different heights, different arm lengths etc.

The only thing I can add to this thread is my missy loves the 12” just as much as the 18”  I think the best is the 12” but she hates the batteries running out.

Me three. Bought a 25" bar for my 441, didn't really pull it. It now pretty much lives on my 661. Apart from anything else, the 661 feels much more balanced with 25" bar than with the 36".

 

Got rid of the 441 now, so it's topper, 261 and 661, a range of saws that does what I need them to very well.
