Yea . I suppose . Its not a requirement in law to muzzle a grey hound though .

Didn't know that, thanks for clarifying. Had typed the message before I read other comments saying the same.

Hoose after then, you been on the beer?

I'm in the same camp, my dog, you want to have the full weight of the law behind you before you try to take it.

listening to the old Bill is like listening to Mark2.

No "Hoose" was intentional - even had to correct the auto-correct ? (apparently, if you write bollox and fill it up with typo's nobody will say yome talking out your hoop....)

Formal complaint sounds the way to go.

And compo!

Sounds like they seized the dog and sent it to a commercial kennel and now want to recoup they costs.  Sounds well suss - but what can you do?  You want your dog back first, then kick off like billy-O

Only legal requirement if your dog is on the dangerous dogs register. Chuffing joke cos majority of the nastiest dogs out there are your handbag dogs!

It's true.. an ex of mine had a miniature jack Russell. Horrible thing. Yappy and nasty and totally out of control, even tried to bite me once. Bloody dog was almost as bad.

Stubby,
I hate this shit.
Irresponsible dog owners are wide spread.
If I had a dog which would attack other dogs,(and I have)it would be on a very short leash.
The whole scenario seemed to have been badly handled by plod.
My sympathies to your sister in law.
Get the dog back first is smart, as some animals mysteriously pass away in custody...
Sadly courts take a dim view of dog attacks, justified or otherwise.

2k for what?  An assessment to see if tis on the DD list?  £75 tops.  That's gotta be kennel fees by my guess.  Do they charge storage fees for all evidence that is seized - I don't think so.

Let’s not forget, the little dog just ran out snapping and barking, we’ve all seen it, most dogs will just bark back, owner pulls it away couple of harsh words between owners, end of story.

Someone’s pet was killed.
