What make and model of Axe is everyone using for splitting?

Fiskars x27. Never thought I'd say this but it really is pretty good. Dead light and seems to blow things apart very well

Another for x27. Split some 60cm rounds of Scots pine with it today, its faster than sawing them in half! 2 to 3 hits and they split.

Another Fiskars fan here. Had the X25 which was good, dealt with all sorts. Treat myself to an X27 this summer and the difference is huge. As previously mentioned, smashes anything and everything, regardless of age, knots etc. Never tried any other brands, so can’t compare, but I think they would have to be pretty special to better the Fiskars

I bought the husqvarna S2800, really happy with it, only a home user tho, not destroying tons and tons of wood like some of you guys are.

X27 again here, was swinging it all day into seasoned ash when i first got it and was often faster than the hydraulic splitter! :-P

I've used a few different makes and really like the portek ones with hickory handles and a bargain really at 40 quid with a hand axe aswell.a while ago did a good 7hr day of splitting no trouble with a good pair of gloves that was big beach rings

For big or gnarly wood I use a felling axe in left hand and a huge mallet with my right.
Just don't use a metal sledgehammer!
