Can't cook or heat water without lighting mine so yes it has been lit.

Lit the one in the living room too this weekend.

 

The deal here is that I will always make sure there are plenty of dry logs and the missus can have the heating on as much as she wants (she carts the logs :) )

Looking at the photos I can't help thinking Richard and nepia should swap stoves.  Richard seems to have a tiny fire in a large stove (impressed or actually burns). Nepia seems to have an impressively overloaded small stove.  Although even th smaller stove looks too large for the fireplace.

Isn't Richards a joke ?  I thought he had just put a torch in there or am I the only one ?

I've never thought of overloading and what's in that pic is nothing! Usually when I light the thing I ram as many logs in it as I can; no point in lighting a fire if there's nothing to burn!

It doesn't go mad because I turn down the ventilation when the top gets hot enough for the fan to start.
