Yea, Tesla makes the car, Panasonic makes the battery's..  sort of like Richard Branson, he puts his name on something and people buy it because it has his endorsement..   I imagine its the same with Tesla and Panasonic.  they make the battery's but he sticks Tesla on em..

Yep, I was also interested in reading what folk had to say on this subject as I've been looking into it for some time, hopefully the conversation will get back on track,.... there's a few on here that wreck any thread they comment on by talking complete shite .

Yes I hope donk comes back with more information. The obvious benefit is in conjunction with solar panels or maybe a wind generator but there may be a case too for off grid where a back up generator is also used. It may better optimise run time and enable use of a smaller genset.

 

I'd like to know what life and charge/discharge cycles it will last. My experience of my smart phone LIon  cell is it's good for about 2 years and 700 cycles.

Yes I hope donk comes back with more information. The obvious benefit is in conjunction with solar panels or maybe a wind generator but there may be a case too for off grid where a back up generator is also used. It may better optimise run time and enable use of a smaller genset.

Yes, we would be running off solar with inverter, with 10k genny for workshop/ high consumption use (tumble drier etc). Would like to think with an average of 1 hr per day with generator and solar would be enough for 24 hrs of low 240 consumption. I’d also hope to get more than two years out of a battery at 3/4000 it could get expensive!
