Environmentally friendly packaging - good idea or just looks bad.

Environmentally friendly packaging or professional looking plastic?

  1. 1. Do we pack out Panther mills out with wood shavings (dry) or bubblewrap?

Where we are based we have access to dry wood shavings from a workshop next door. At the moment we currently use loads of bubblewrap (x4 very large bales a week). Because we send our Panther mills pre assembled they need lots of wrapping to stop them moving in the box.

If we used the carboard boxes and wood shavings for UK orders this means no plastic is needed in the packaging. But we are worried folk will think we are trying to save money and uploading waste on them! We would put a note on the box not to open inside.

Cost would be around the same as although bubblewrap is more expensive it is less time consuming.

Honest answers please! If you got a premium product in a box full of wood shavings would it upset you?

OK let's have a few more votes in that case - it's all anonymous and you only have a choice of x2! So far only x1 vote for shavings so one of you don't ain't clicked ;)

Will wood chips do the job? If it's to stop the mills moving around I would have thought any lose material like chip will get displaced with an impact. Think I would be happy with chip as a packing material as long as long as it did the job and was not dusty. I always liked that corn starch packing that looks like Wotsits

I'd pay an extra quid or two for eco friendly packaging.  Make it so Rob, if people want bubble wrap, they either really like bubble wrap or they don't deserve a mill.
