You after mechanical or hitch Darrin?

Rope, I guess being in Germania you be needing CE.  Samson Voyager is pretty low stretch but the lower the better.  Nin CE Cougars are pretty good.

Hitch climber and rope wrench for non mechanical.  Foot ascender, haas of sorts and a chest harness or neck tether and your away.

If you want mechanical there is the RR, Bulldog Bone or Unicender.  Don't have the latter so can't comment but the other two work well.  Just substitute it from the list above for the hitch climber and rope wrench.

Yale 11.7 ropes are nice. But there's so many variables. What hitch cord/lengths, type of hitch tied, weather, if you've had a big lunch [emoji23]. From my experience blue tongue is a good rooe. ARB pro 9mm hitch is nice. New England ropes are too stretchy and ocean Polly is nice but doesn't last and goes stiff

only reason it became so popular was because of the characteristics that made it a good rope got taken away when they completely changed the core to make a CE approved cougar.. I would stay clear unless you have tried it and likes....
I have not tried this but a lad who’s climbed on my non CE cougars brought some the other day and really likes it. https://www.gustharts.com/climbing-equipment-c1/climbing-ropes-c3/ropes-with-terminations-c4/teufelberger-drenaline-p1691
It felt in hand a bit like cougar... and not too thin which is good for me , can’t be doing with climbing on cheese wire ropes.

going to definitly do more srt,  trouble is a lot of our trees are small so often go double just because its easy and familiar but srt is so much more effiecient on ascents and being able to put in a redirect anywhere is just ace. been blagging my mates bulldogbone  lately and thats awesome, zero sit back and feels so postive   definitely top of my shopping list.

i think a lot of the youtube vids and discussions on srt can make it look and seem a lot more complex than it really needs to be and id say most people will have a lot of the essential components in their kit already, certainly worth getting the few extra bits and giving in a shot.

Hearing good things about the drenaline rope.

Im still fannying around with zigzag and rope wrench but the liros cord is good

Ive been trying the spiderjack 2.1 with the rope wrench which is pretty decent.

Ive found the less gear the better with srt just keep it as simple as poss and use the gear u already have.

No point goin and buyin expensive kit if u dont get on with it.

If im being honest i dont do enough big trees to justify getting all the specialised srt ropes and haas etc

I did make my own haas but the bunjee cord snaps quite often so ive stopped fixing it (laziness).

Just recently ive tried srt on smaller trees where id normally ddrt and im surprised by how easy it is once it clicks in your head, especially when your not fighting friction on prunes.Rope choice is key though.Im using tachyon and yale on srt both ok i suppose but ive nowt to compere them too.
