Isn’t that normal? The 254 has a bigger engine, with a higher stated HP 3.9 against 3.75 for a 550.

Well. It certainly wasn't beating a550 beforehand. The most impressive thing was the pickup. It loves to rev.

The 254 is a excellent saw , apart from the vibration on the rear handle.

only having four rubber vibration mounts might have something to do with it.

strange , even my 42 special has six mounts.

First saw I owned was a secondhand Jonsered 75.  Had the 'pleasure' of having to use a Danarm 55 commercially when I was 17.

Husqvarna 61 had it 18 years and she’s still going strong so many saws have come and gone since. Great saw!!

Bought a bow saw when i was 17 and started doing cash in hand firewood to the neighbours till I could buy a second hand McCulloch, sorry but i can't remember what it was, which i cut firewood with to  funded me thru university, it ran like a dream. I gave it to my ex-wifes brother who dropped it in the river 2 days after I gave it to him, not sure that it was directly responsible for the divorce but it didn't help !!! Lol.

Swapped it for a smaller poulan with no VD . What a mistake that was?
