  1. Just to add I’ve also fitted a swivel discharge chute off a titan pro and this makes it a lot handier
  2. Yes , chipper has been a great buy. Coming up on 3 years old now and has never let me down. Keep the blades sharp and the blade/anvil gap in check and you won’t go far wrong. Keep it well serviced and greased and it’ll do you proud.
  3. Yes powered straight off the chipper battery . Really straight forward to fit. Made up a bracket with 2 bits of 2” flat bar and bolted to chipper frame.
  4. Fit a winch mate. Saved me a whole load of grunting.
  5. Been running a rock stump grinder for a couple of years now. I had the same dilemma, go second hand or buy a new rock. It’s ground roughly 150 stumps in that time without any drama. Briggs Engine is as sweet as a nut and as has been said teeth aren’t bad. Broke the tungsten tip off one early on but rock sold me an individual tooth. With a bit of fettling they are a good solid unit.
  6. My lad passed his test early this year so we bought him a car (seat mii) and he pays the insurance ,fully comp was around a grand with a black box fitted. Black box keeps an eye on his driving and he’s got into the habit now if being home by 10pm as it affects his driving score being out later. That was More than insurance btw?
  7. I use the leno net bags as they don’t snag as much as other types. 82 x 55 suit my log bagger and seem to be popular

    Yip. Fresh underwear required
  9. Get yourself some manhole barriers like the ones BT use. If I remember correctly I got a set of 4 new for about £90 off the net Cable tied some heavy tarp material on and bobs your uncle. They all fold up flat for storage and can take a fair bit of abuse
  10. Does this mean red diesel will be abolished and only certain sectors can get the rebate on white fuel?
  11. Just ordered the same chipper chute from Titan pro mate £90 + post. Thanks for that?
  12. Does anyone know where to get a swivel chute for a rock 13hp chipper. The fixed chute is the only thing I don’t like . I’m looking for a jansen gts chute basically. Looks like it would be a simple swap. Dont see any listed on any of the jansen stockists websites unless I’m missing something
  13. I thought the contractors were already chosen as work has started. Bad news if the government descend into a who can do it cheapest bidding war. Saying that the Indians build a mean railway so they might be in with a shout price wise
  14. Well that’s 6 minutes of my life wasted ?
  15. I hear you fella. Did give that idea some thought but decided it might be more useful on the chipper for steep gardens or pulling up the ramps on garden steps etc. ?
  16. My rock chipper is now almost 2 years old and has been great. Keeping the blades shaving sharp and regular servicing and fettling seem to be the key with these machines. Only gripe I had is that it’s awkward to pull up the tailgate of the ifor trailer by yourself when the trailer floors wet. Had a few evenings in the shed and fitted a small atv winch to it which is remotely operated . Problem solved?
  17. Ha. That was 30 years ago. Saw is long since dead?
  18. To be fair there are worse crimes? Used to chog up firewood after school and during holidays with an old mc culloch top handle and managed to retain all digits and limbs. Didnt know any better then tho.
  19. Never ever plead guilty by letter. It’s always better to go plead guilty in person and apologise profusely. I made the mistake of pleading by letter and got 8 points and £200 fine back in 1993. They basically gave me maximum they could. It hurt ?

    day rates

Yip. Big kit always needs a bit put away for a rainy day off each and every job because one day the heavens will open
  21. It’s easy to move around as the front folding handle and rubber tyres make a big difference
  22. I’ve got the 12 ton rock splitter with the Briggs engine and it’s ace. Modded the 2 handle faf controls to a single lever. Never had any problems and it’s chogged through a fair bit of timber
  23. Chess..... strategic...civilised ......and a total fu@king mystery shawshank redemption
