I don't have an exit strategy as such just work until I drop is the plan health permitting. We live cheap so don't need to earn a lot to scrape by. Retiring just sounds boring and I have seen plenty of folks just lose the will when they don't have the motivation of work.

Agreed. I would get bored if I retired from everything. I always need something to keep my mind active

Agreed also, i think if you do retire from the day job then you still need something to stimulate the mind and keep you active, something to get up for, even if its to walk the dog or cook breakfast for the wench etc.... if ya mind goes stale then the body shuts down. Seen a few leave work now and just fester and go down hill rapid because they’ve had no get up and go, and get up for goals to achieve. Sad really when you have worked all your life for it.

Apologies, my use of the past tense was obviously presumptuous.

I often overlook the possibility of double standards.

As stated, I was just pissing around. Being deliberately course if you will..

So climb off my balls with your disingenuous bullshit.

equally there are plenty of others who die before they retire ..........a whole life of nothing but work !!!!!!    guess each individual has their  own  opinion of work/ life balance  ... I only work part time now and love it !!!

Yes, known a few who just reach retirement and then don’t get to enjoy it- sad, but perhaps a lesson not to focus on retirement as being a cut off from work but rather treat your life from now as if you are in semi retirement- hare and tortoise mentality. Obviously I don’t want to get to retirement age and feel that I still have to work due to lack of pension/income, but would be nice to still do a few days a week- I’d be terrible retired anyway!
