Tried to buy a couple more big tubs of beaded hand cleaner on amazon (good price), but the order got refunded the next day. So I emailed to ask why, and the response was :

"Hello, unfortunately the government have now banned microbeads, so the manufacturers are no longer able to produce this product, we have now deactivated the listing
Sorry for any inconvenience caused
Regards"

First I'd heard of this? :|

About time too. There are some products which haven't been banned, mainly ones which are applied and left on for some time before being washed off - they'll be added to the ban in the near future.
There are natural alternatives such as crushed nut shell husks so perhaps we'll start seeing more of them now

Swarfega orange now has cornmeal as the beads and seems to work just as well as the Goodstuff orange

We used to wash with Swarfega and moulding sand at the foundry, it cleaned your hands by removing the top layer of skin :D Microbeads have turned up in seafood and all over the place so it is a good thing getting rid of them.
