Do you plant your sweet corn I’m blocks? I done mine in two staggered lines, but since learnt they need to be in blocks to pollinate?

Planted in blocks cos they are pollinated by wind as Mick says, they dont do very well in rows

First year growing veg with a concerted effort. Loving my Rhino greenhouse, and touch wood most things seem to be coming along nicely- but some stuff wasn’t even planted until May so perhaps a bit behind.. just had first courgettes- and cucumbers are just got their first fruits. I find it quite obsessive- it’s the first thing I check on when I come home from work, give the chickens a talking to then go in to say hi to the family!

Does anyone use wood chips for allotments and vegetable growing?

Caveat....I don't actually care, i'm just shamelessly spamming my own forum for link juice ?

Use it a lot Steve, it’s good stuff, especially really well rotted stuff.

BUT...

You need to add lime otherwise it gets too acid and the brassicas suffer.

Mixed 50/50 with grass clippings and turned to keep at 50-70c you can break it down in about 8 weeks

The courgettes in the poly tunnel are romping away, I think putting 2 plants into the half IBC raised bed was a bit optimistic!

A couple of the old spinach (leef beet) plants are bolting and just about touching the roof of the tunnel.
