Chainsaw trousers washed too hot?

My girlfriend washed my chainsaw trousers at 60 degrees today (didn't check if anything was already in the washing machine before putting a wash on!) and the label says only to wash at 40.

 

My question is, is it likely to have damaged them in any way? Can I feel safe using them any more? They're Oregon Yukon type A.

If that concerned just buy a new pair as they are cheap Oregons.

It may well have compromised the safety material of the trousers,but they might be ok-are you willing to risk it?

If it were me id buy new ones.

As said above Yukons are pretty cheap compared to other makes so just replace

I'd say washing at 40 degree's is just recommended for best results..

 

I can't see how an extra twenty degree's is gonna compromise their safety.. be a poor pair of safety trousers that get killed on a higher wash every now an then..

Before worrying about whether they are still 'fit for purpose', I'd try them on. My ex shrunk more than one pair by cooking them.

 

 

Seriously though, I doubt anyone on here is actually qualified to give anything other than an opinion. For peace of mind, just drop the manufacturers an email and ask. Personally, I'd wear them - but I wouldn't/couldn't advise anyone else

The decomposition temperature is 427c-482c but there may be a more to it than that and they may not be Kevlar.

 

£65 is not disposable money to me either Watrevir.

Don't worry about are they safe. She has probably shrunk them but at least 4 sizes so even if they been naffed you'll never get them on again

Dont bin them . Use them for strimming .
