Cut and climb jacket opinions

Met plenty with trapped nerves ,kidney damage and plenty of other ailments in this industry due from freezing damp and cold . See plenty of people spend more on there going shoes .. I'd rather spend on function and looking after myself which is 8 hours a day 5-6 days a week than an evening out.

My cut n climb jacket must be 3 or 4 years old and is still waterproof. I sponge in down with warm soapy water on occasion.

I also have a hooded, thigh length Royal Navy heavy weather coat I wear if we have to be out in pelting rain all day,it has no pockets and is as waterproof as a mermaids chuff. My son in laws in the navy so it didn't cost me much :)

I got a cut and climb 2 years ago after reading good reports on here about them and in all honesty I have been disappointed in it with regards to keeping the wet out.

From day one it has always left me damp on the shoulders and sides and wearing today from lunchtime till 4.30 it had gone through the jacket a top and my shirt and base layers too.

Do forget that this is in the soft southern rain as well unlike you hardened northeners!!

In defence of the jacket it's robust and comfortable to me and I think it would take some ripping however I would be looking at alternatives when looking to replace it.

I used to keep pretty dry in my old husqvarna monsoon jacket.
