Ranger here too. Mates one has 193k and went through three mot's with no advisories.

Tdci model has uprated suspension and engine , door seals etc.

Higher geared so may not be suitable for heavy towing.

I have one and will be doing heavy towing, time will tell.

what year is your's Pinky ?

My brother is in the vehicle recovery business in the Midlands. He tells me that bm range have a poor reputation.

2008 , 122k , good history , clutch and gearbox feel very good .

I collect my own firewood during the spring / summer so it will be towing 3 tonnes plus a tonne on the buck , if I leave the dogs home regularly.

impressive lugging figgers indeed, i lug similar weight and sometimes more with my old Isuzu albeit illegally from time to time but it can take it. Yours a 3.0 TDCI? I've always loiked the look the look of the older Rangers.

I fancied a 3lt auto , Presuming it would tow better but I knew the history of this one and it's a 2.5 manual . I intend to have or remapped for mor torque.

They're not perfect , I ran defenders for 15 years and one of the things I miss about them is low box for reversing a loaded trailer.

With the Ranger ,low box means 4 wheel drive which isn't good on hard surfaces.

Apart from that , good truck.
