What is the shortest logs you have been asked to supply?

I have recently been asked by a customer to cut the logs 6"long and split small!!!!

Have you been asked to supply logs (large kindling in my mind) to the above specs.

Yes, horrible stuff to cut with a processor because it always falls in the chamber sideways. Luckily we only sell a couple of loads a year.

We do a sub 8" which is just a bunch of short end logs chucked in a crate and some small diameter branch material that does not need splitting. Probably do 10 cube of this a year strangely quite a bit goes to a lady with a Rayburn as apparently it needs short logs

 

Never been asked for 6" but could cut some from billets if required but would charge a premium.

Same as above,get asked for about 10m3 in all per year for small logs, I charge the same unless I have to recut a bag that's longer which is a ball ache ,somebody always want something you haven't got,

We've only had a few requests over the last few years for logs under our normal 10" and I ask if they can go and measure their fire box. They have all given a size bigger than 10" so we just supply them our normal size

They get what they are given in my books... but then again i dont sell any more than 10m3 a year.

When I worked for someone we cut 4 inch and split small for a couple of customers with small open fires took bloody ages to get a load cut.

5"- 6" and we cut them from billets on the sawbench rather than try it with the processor.
