Is no one else intrigued by why this has become such an issue now? It can't all be down to social media crap surely. What is missing from young people's life's now?

 

Puberty wasn't great, but it wasn't that bad either apart from the spots. At no point did I or any of my contemporaries even consider trying to identify as a Woman/Furry/gender fluid being or whatever.

I was just reading something about the trump gender policy. Apparently everyone in the USA is now considered to be a girl!

According to Trump there are only two genders, both are written in stone at conception. Every foetus at conception is female.

I do have my youngest two “twins” in the last year of academy. I hear from them and have witnessed it myself a 6ft young lad of 16 who chooses to wear a dress and identity as Gemma. The internet, social and mainstream media cause a huge amount of problems, but they also open people's eyes and ears to viewpoints beyond those they hear at home.

So one of your 6 children (to your knowledge) so far has not sided to your own intollerant viewpoints and you're doing your best to change that!

I'm sure that there are quite a lot of us of a more tolerant persuasion who have to put up with the viewpoints of our  right wing, intollerant and angry parents shouting at the news about everything that's gone wrong with the world. I know for me and many others we've had to learn to put up with it, ignore it, pick our times for an argument, or walk away so as not to have to continuously hear their angry thoughts. But for family peace and as they may not have that many years left we don't bother to pursue trying to change their minds as we may have done in the past.

It is OK for family members to have different viewpoints and for kids to find their own way in the world, just because she doesn't mind how others want to identify, you don't have to draw her into your world in that respect. If she's happy to sit next to Jodie and call her Jodie even though she used to be called James as that's what makes her happy then that's no bad thing, it's about respect for the other person at the end of the day!

Absolute and utter shite full of baseless assumptions, a parent explaining to an impressionable teenager who has been bombarded with this crap that “ I’m sorry but there are only two genders male and female ” ( feel free to prove me wrong on this) is not right wing, angry or intolerant, what they are is a responsible adult explaining the reality of life. Not the left wing cloud cuckoo land shite you seem to believe in, which imo plays a big part in the massive increase in mental health issues with these kids who are pandered too by absolute fools.

Have you ever thought whoever it is you are referring to in your family might be right and that it’s actually your view that is contrary to the laws of nature and therefore bollocks. 
It’s not respecting anyone to play along with stupid fantasies, if you identify as x but I know you are z then don’t insult me my expecting me to go along with your bs.
